ART Inc ASALA (ARTS SCIENCE AND LEADERSHIP ACADEMY), after school program encompasses a broad range of focus areas including academic support, mentoring, positive youth development, arts, STEAM, Youth Leadership training and workforce development programs.
ART Inc’s mission is to empower and inspire the community through arts, education, and culture. One of our main focuses in our after-school program is to get kids excited about the Arts and Science through STEAM based curriculums, that are engaging, fun and interactive.
Students will be guided and allowed to explore the many wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics in an interactive safe environment.
Program Overview
- Ages: 6 – 18+ yrs. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).
- Location: Romain Arts & Culture Center, 919 NE Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL 61603
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The ASALA Experience
Art
Students get excited about the Arts through STEAM-based curriculums that are engaging, fun, and interactive. Every session makes room to create, express, and share work in an interactive, safe environment.
Ages 6 – 18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).
Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM during ASALA after-school hours at the Romain Arts & Culture Center. Current session dates are listed on our Sawyer registration page.
Science
Students are guided and allowed to explore the many wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on, interactive learning that connects science to the creative process.
Ages 6 – 18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).

Artistic Exploration
ASALA encourages positive youth development through exploration: trying new ideas, asking questions, and discovering personal strengths in a supportive after-school setting.

Leadership
Youth Leadership training and mentoring are built into the academy, helping students build confidence, communication, and responsibility as they grow.

Academy Experience
