Creative learning after the school day

ART Inc.’s ASALA—Arts, Science, And Leadership Academy—after-school program encompasses academic support, mentoring, positive youth development, arts, STEAM, youth leadership training, and workforce development.

Our mission is to empower and inspire the community through arts, education, and culture. ASALA gets students excited about art and science through STEAM-based curricula that are engaging, fun, and interactive.

Students are guided as they explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in an interactive, safe environment.

Ages

6–18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th through Pathways.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM during the current after-school session.

Location

Romain Arts & Culture Center, 919 NE Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL 61603.

The ASALA Experience

Art

Students get excited about the Arts through STEAM-based curriculums that are engaging, fun, and interactive. Every session makes room to create, express, and share work in an interactive, safe environment.

Ages 6 – 18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).

Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM during ASALA after-school hours at the Romain Arts & Culture Center. Current session dates are listed on our Sawyer registration page.

Science

Students are guided and allowed to explore the many wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on, interactive learning that connects science to the creative process.

Ages 6 – 18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).

Artistic Exploration

ASALA encourages positive youth development through exploration: trying new ideas, asking questions, and discovering personal strengths in a supportive after-school setting.

Ages 6 – 18+. Students are grouped by grade: 1st–3rd, 4th–8th, and 9th–12th (Pathways).

Leadership

Youth Leadership training and mentoring are built into the academy, helping students build confidence, communication, and responsibility as they grow.
