ART INC.’s S.O.L.V.E. program provides comprehensive violence-prevention and recovery support in Peoria, Illinois. We assist individuals and families at highest risk through trauma-informed care, case management, victim services, and street/hospital outreach—connecting people to resources quickly and walking with them every step of the way.
Our approach focuses on stabilizing crises, restoring safety, and building long-term pathways to education, employment, and wellness. Services are delivered by trained advocates and outreach specialists in collaboration with community partners and local hospitals.
How we help
Street & Hospital Outreach
Mediating and de-escalating conflicts, reclaiming public spaces for safe activities, coordinating responses after critical incidents, and connecting families to non-emergency services.
Victim Services
Emotional support, safety planning, hospital and court advocacy, support groups, resource navigation, and coordinated care with partner agencies.
Case Management
Intake assessments, personalized plans, counseling referrals, employment training, job placement, legal and housing assistance, family engagement, and ongoing follow-up.
Who we serve
We prioritize individuals and families most affected by community violence, including justice-involved youth, people at active risk of street involvement, and recent victims or witnesses of firearm-related incidents. Collaboration with hospitals enables bedside advocacy and post-incident support.
Funding supported in whole or in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Office of Firearm Violence Prevention.
Emergency Victims Flex Fund
The Emergency Victims Flex Fund provides support for victims of gun violence and their family members affected by the crime. Victim must be enrolled and actively engaged in the Reimagine Public Safety Act (RPSA) Violence Prevention Service Grant.
Victims may qualify for up to $5,000 in relief. Contact the S.O.L.V.E. team to learn more about eligibility and available support.

A Poetic Testimony by Kenyuanna Hardimon
Shared as a gift to S.O.L.V.E. by a mother in gratitude for the support she received after losing her son.
When the world stopped breathing
and my heart shattered in two,
when my son Keyaun was taken
and I didn’t know how I’d make it throughSOLVE showed up.
Not with questions that hurt,
not with timelines or pressure to be “strong,”
but SOLVE came with open hands,
steady voices,
and space to grieve however long.SOLVE saw my pain and didn’t turn away.
SOLVE saw my tears and let them fall.
SOLVE helped me stand when I couldn’t move,
helped me breathe when I felt so small.Bills don’t pause for broken hearts
and SOLVE understood that truth.
SOLVE lifted weight I couldn’t carry,
when life felt unfair and cruel and rude.Five thousand dollars but more than that,
SOLVE gave me dignity, care, and grace.
SOLVE reminded me I wasn’t alone
in the darkest chapter of my days.Because of SOLVE, I didn’t drown.
Because of SOLVE, I stayed afloat.
Because of SOLVE, I found a moment
to breathe, to cry, to still have hope.This poem is my thank you to SOLVE
for the love you didn’t have to give,
for standing with a grieving mother
and helping her continue to live.I carry Keyaun’s name with purpose.
I carry SOLVE’s kindness in my heart.
